Generating equipment from templates
Equipment > Equipment tree structures > Tree structure management > Generating equipment from templates

You can directly create a complete hierarchy of Assets or Structure points from predefined templates,

The Automatic coding must be defined for the elements to be created (Assets and structure points).

The information to be entered is as follows:

Creation options

Creation rules

  1. The equipment creates (a Location point or an Asset) depending on the equipment type entered for the template).
  2. If the template has template components, child items of equipment are also created from these components according to the desired copy depth.
  3. Only templates with the "Template duplicated with copy" box checked are used for the copy.
  4. The template will be filled in for the created Equipment only if the "Equipment with identical template" box is checked on the template. If the box is not checked, there will be no initialization of the characteristics or nomenclature, or creation of a reading point.
  5. The name of the equipment created is that of the template.
  6. The status and organization of the created equipment are those entered in the creation settings.

Example

Let us consider the following templates:

TEMPLATE_1 - Template_1, which has the following components:

TEMPLATE_1_1 - Template_1_1

TEMPLATE_1_2 - Template_1_2, consisting of

TEMPLATE_1_2_1, Template_1_2_1, in turn consisting of

MODELE_1_2_1_2

TEMPLATE_1_1 does not have "Template duplicated with copy" checked, but the other do.

The generation of equipment from TEMPLATE-1 with 2 instances and a depth of 3 leads to the creation of the following tree structure branches:

EQPT1 - Template_1

EQPT2 - Template_1_2

EQPT3 - Template_1_2_1

EQPT4 - Template_1

EQPT5 - Template_1_2

EQPT6 - Template_1_2_1
