Equipment > Equipment tree structures > Tree structure management

You describe links between structure points, templates and assets, families, and items in the link tree structure form.

To display the link tree structure:

  1. In the [Equipment] module, select the [Equipment tree structure] function.
→ The link tree structure form is displayed; see Tree structure graph.

Creating elements

Creating an element

  1. Select the parent of the element to be created by clicking on its icon,
→ The element is shown in red.

  2. On the left-hand window, select creation "Create ...."
→ The detail sheet of the element is opened in creation mode. Once you have confirmed it, the new element will be created and will be the child of the initially selected element.

Creating multiple equipment

  1. Select the point where new equipment must be generated by clicking on its icon,

  2. In the pane to the left, select create "Create equipment by copying templates."
→ A creation information entry pane is displayed; see Generating equipment from templates.

Duplicate a branch

  1. Select the point where new equipment must be generated by clicking on its icon,

  2. In the pane to the left, select create "Duplicate equipment."
→ A copy configuration pane is displayed; see Duplicating equipment.

Arranging elements

Prerequisites: In the profile settings, select "Manual" equipment sort order.

The elements of a branch can be arranged in the desired order by clicking on the icon in order to:

Moving an element

You can move an element from one point in the tree structure to another using drag-and-drop provided that the target element is displayed in the tree structure.
Otherwise, use the action "Moving a selected element" described in the following section.

  1. Click on the icon of the element to be moved,
→ The element is shown in red.

  2. Drag it to the icon of its new parent while holding the click, then click again.

Actions on links

  1. Select the tree structure point concerned, by clicking on its icon,

  2. Choose the desired action from the left-hand panel,

  3. Confirm or cancel your changes with the icons of the action pane and .

Adding a child link

In the pane to the left, select the structure and code of the new child, already existing (otherwise, use the create icon ).

If the link is dated, you can specify an application date other than the current date.
The date of the new link may be earlier than the current date, but cannot be later than the system date (reference/application server date). The program displays a critical message if this rule is not followed.

If the new child already had a parent in this structure, the link is closed (if it was dated) or deleted.

Changing link information

This is the link between the selected element and its parent. You can change:

Exit the pop-up by clicking "Validate" or "Cancel."

Adding to a network

Enter the network link information in the pop-up:

Then click on "Confirm."

Actions on hierarchical structures only

Deleting the current (parent) link

When an equipment item is selected, the current link cannot be deleted if the equipment is already at the 'root' of the tree structure.

After deleting the current link (and the parent), the selected element will be found in the root of the structure corresponding to it, and its children will remain linked to it.

If the link is dated, you can enter the closing date of the link.

Deleting child links

All the children of the selected element will then be found in the root of the structure corresponding to them.

If the link type is dated, you can enter the closing date for all the links.

Moving the selected equipment

This is the same as a link deletion followed by an addition, or a drag-and-drop.

Actions on network structures only

A network is always displayed in relation to a previously selected element; see Link graph, § Location.

Adding a client link (or Adding a server link, depending on the network view)

To do this, select the structure and code of the element to be added to the network as a client or server of the selected element.

Deleting a client/server link

The link to the element upstream of the selected element in the tree is deleted.

Deleting client/server links

All links to elements downstream of the selected element in the tree are deleted.

Creation of a WR, work order, work order report, project

These actions are only offered if the creation of a WR or work order is possible for the selected equipment:

The entry form for work requests, work orders, work order reports, or projects is opened and the equipment is initialized with the selected one.
