General information

• Structure (required): Identifier of the structure. It is unique in the application. It must be meaningful.
• Name: Name of the structure. Used to provide additional information needed for comprehension.
• Type (required): Type of structure.
  • Hierarchical: an element can have only one parent and several children.
  • Network: an element can have several parents (servers), several children (customers), and the link can be quantified.
• Element: Type of objects in the structure. Required for hierarchical structures. In the current version, an element can only be a structure point.
• Icon: Path on the server of the icon that will represent the elements of this structure in the tree structure; see Icon.
• Tree structure search: If this box is checked, any search or consolidation relating to an object of this structure will also involve its descendants (e.g. work order count or search at a point in the structure).

Accessibility

• Equipment: Relative position of the structure tab in the equipment tree structures form.
  • If the value is zero, the tree structure will only be available on the [Other links] tab,
  • If the value is not filled in, the structure will not be visible in the tree structure. This can be preferable for structures that contain a very large number of elements.

Authorized joins

These are the structures to which this one can be connected.

In the case of a hierarchical structure, only child structures can be filled in, because the link is only defined in one direction: an element can have only one parent in this structure.

• Parent structure and its name: Structure of the elements to which the elements of the current network can belong. To be selected from among the hierarchical structures.
• Child structure and its name: Structure of the elements that can belong to the elements of the current network or hierarchy.
• Quantified: To be checked if a quantity can specify the link between two dependent elements: a composite is formed of N components.
• Dated: To be checked if the link is dated, that is, if a link between two elements is deleted, the history of the link is kept (the link is therefore only "closed"). Only hierarchical structure links can be dated.
• Stock link: Active only if the child structure is an asset. If the box is checked, when the Asset enters stock, any links on the asset are deleted (or closed, if the link is dated).
• Standard: A standard join cannot be changed or deleted.

Alternative joins

For a given join, you can define a list of alternative joins, that is, joins that exclude the current join and vice versa.

For example, the Main point-Asset and Function-Asset are declared as alternative joins. Consequently, an Asset cannot simultaneously have a Main point parent and a function point parent.

• Structure and its name: The structure defining the alternative join.
• Standard: A standard join cannot be changed or deleted.
