Each operation having an impact on the inventory status must be tracked in CARL Source.
Saved inventory movements therefore do not only come from actions performed in the [Inventory] module, but also actions performed on work orders ([Work] module), and receiving ([Purchasing] module).

• Enter: After a purchase request, you will receive the delivered items.
  If the items are managed in inventory, the operation will generate an entry. A part removed following a work order can also be returned to inventory; see Entry.

• Withdrawal: There must be an inventory withdrawal for each removal of an item from a warehouse.
  Either you enter the use of an item at the time of a work order (see Work order [Completed] [Supply]), or you directly enter an inventory withdrawal see Withdrawal.

• Taking inventory:
  • When you update the quantities found in the warehouse in CARL Source, or if you wish to report a change of storage warehouse, you will be taking an Inventory; see taking inventory.
  • If you successfully close a Prepared inventory, CARL Source generates inventory movements of type "Prepared inventory."
  • If you consume a quantity greater than the quantity in inventory, CARL Source generates an "Inventory realignment" movement (to readjust the quantity in inventory); see Withdrawals.

• Reservation: When preparing or implementing a work order, you reserve the necessary parts; see Work order [Supplies], and Reservation.

• Shipping: When providing inventory to a warehouse from another warehouse, you use a transfer request.
  The supplying warehouse reports the shipment of items that will be ultimately be received.

• Inventory outage: The item is not present in stock at the time when a technician needs it; see Stock outage.

• Change location: a movement of all or a portion of the stock from one location to another within the same storage warehouse .

• Price correction: Result of readjusting the stock valuation of an item following:
  • Stock entry,
  • A manual change to AP in the item sheet.

The stock valuation of this movement is calculated as follows:

quantity in stock in the warehouse * variation in AP

• Price adjustment: Readjustment of the inventory inward movement value following a change to the unit price between two receipts.
