The [Inventory] module allows you to know the status of your inventory in each warehouse for all items, spare parts, and Assets referenced in your system.
Synopsis
Types of movement
In order to manage inventory-related events on the finest level of detail, you have the [Types of movement] function that allows you to define, if necessary, your own types of inventory movements.
Description of items
As the need arises, you describe the items to be managed for maintenance purposes:
On the item sheet, you can view the status of the inventory in each warehouse, and even by location.
Items can be organized according to families. See the [Item] and [Family] functions.
Entry of items into inventory
At the time of item delivery (see [Purchasing] module), you enter the quantity entering the inventory with indication of the warehouse, and possibly the location in the warehouse, and the batch reference if necessary.
The price of received items allows CARL Source to calculate the value of the inventory.
Reservation
When preparing work orders, you can reserve the necessary items (see [Work] module, [Work orders] function).
These reservations appear in the inventory information of the item (see [Reservations]).
Withdrawal of items
During a work order or for some other need, you indicate the withdrawal of an item from a warehouse. This operation is tracked in the inventory movements and generates an entry for cost accounting.
Conversely, you can also return an unused item to inventory, for example upon completion of a work order.
See the [Entry] and [Withdrawal] functions
Inventory
When taking inventory, use the [Taking inventory] function.
There, you indicate the quantities of items present in the warehouses in CARL Source, which will then contain the updated inventory value.
If appropriate, you can first print out the inventory taking sheet. There, you enter the quantities and then carry them over to CARL Source.
Warehouse transfer and shipping
A request for procurement from one warehouse to another is made using the [Transfer request] function; it is followed by a shipment and then a receipt.
Verification and follow-up
You can view inventory movements by item, type of movement, date, agent, warehouse, work order, and Cost center in the [Movement history] function.
