Cost center

A cost center is an allocation unit for maintenance costs.

For example, cost centers may correspond to:

groups of equipment , in which case there is a cost center for vehicles, one for heating, one for computer equipment.
services,
functions,
And so on.

Within a cost center, the expenses and possibly allowances are distributed according to type of cost; see Type of cost.

Display

One benefit of cost centers is that for each one you can display:

allowances: amounts allocated (projected over the period); also see Cost center allowances.
amounts committed: validated but not yet spent,
amounts incurred: actually spent,
the balance: allocated - (committed + incurred).

This data can be consolidated according to your needs:

Cost center statuses

Active: the cost center is open and expenses can be allocated to it.
Inactive: the cost center has expired or is not yet open and cannot be selected as a cost center for posting.
However, if purchases or work orders are in progress for this cost center, new entries may be posted to it.
Canceled: the cost center was created by mistake and will never be used again. it cannot be selected as a cost center for posting. This status is irreversible.

Composition of cost centers

Through the parent cost center, you can define composition or hierarchy links between cost centers.

These links will be used:

In consolidations: the application displays the cumulative amounts of the cost center for all of its descendants.
For a cost center search: you can search for cost centers that are the child of another cost center.
When checking the amounts: if the current cost center does not have any allowances, the allowances taken into account will be those of the parent cost center.
