Synopsis

Accounting years

A year is the period over which you wish to consolidate the accounts.
It is generally a calendar year, but you can define years over the period of time that you wish.

 

Budget

This is the account dedicated to purchases.
Budgets are allocated with budget allowances and you then consult the budget entries generated during the purchasing process.

 

cost center

This is an expense account, or "charge center," or "cost-basis cost center."
You plan disbursement amounts with Cost center allowances, and you can then find the assignments generated in the Cost center entries.
Within a given cost center, the expenses and possibly allowances are broken down according to type of cost.

 

Accounting code

This is a posting account at the time of invoicing, a function not included in this version of CARL Source.
