A CARL Source element may be referred to by a different term than the one usually known to the user.
For example, CARL Source's "work order" may correspond to "WOs" (work orders), or "cost center" to a "cost-basis section".

It is possible to modify the vocabulary on all screens where it is used in CARL Source thanks to this function; see Replacing a term.

It is also possible to:

To use this feature, the vocabulary must first be loaded into the database.
If this was not done on installation, the loading procedure given in the installation manual must be followed.
Names of entities, such as the name of indicators, for example, or the name of configurable lists of values, do not fall within the scope of this configuration. They must be changed in the detail form of each entity.

 

Business vocabulary

You can define a term according to the user's business context. For example, to designate assets:

If the term is not defined for the user's business vocabulary, the default business vocabulary term is applied.

Vocabulary changes apply to all CARL Source users, depending on their language and business vocabulary.

To replace a term in a given language, you must have the version of CARL Source in that language.

 

Accessing the list of names

  1. Place the cursor in the [System] module and select [Customization of names] from the "Customization" section.
    → The list of names is displayed.

  2. Optionally go to the [Criteria] tab and enter a search criterion.
    For example, the word to be replaced, and the language in which to replace it.
    Surround it by asterisks (* ) to also display occurrences included in a sentence.

  3. Go to the [Results] tab].
    → The list of expressions in which the term is used is displayed.
