Moving an asset

When a work order causes the movement or replacement of an asset, this can be declared directly from the report or details on the work order.

If the moved asset is a child of a structure point or another asset, the application offers the possibility of filling in a replacement asset.

The same asset can belong simultaneously to an asset, a main point and a location point.
If you move an asset from one structure to another, the link with the initial structure will not be affected.
For example, if you move an asset from a location point to another asset or to a main point, the link with the location point is retained.

Accessing the Asset move form

From the details of the work order on the action menu , select "Move an asset."
→ The move form is displayed.
Fill in the move information and confirm.
→ The asset is moved or scrapped, possibly replaced. Return to the work order report.

Form details

Work order and Name: Current work order causing the move or scrapping.

Details of the action

Action on the asset:
- Movement: The asset is assigned to a new structure point or asset It may be replaced with another asset in its initial assignment..
- Scrapped: The Asset changes to the "Scrapped" status; see Asset statuses. If it was the child of an equipment item, another asset may replace it.
Technician: Technician having moved or scrapped the asset.
Comment: The text will appear as a comment on the archived and/or created link.

New assignment of moved Asset

This area is only accessible if the action is a move.

Type: Structure of the new asset location.
Equipment: To be chosen from the items of equipment of the selected type: asset, location point, main point or other type of structure point.

Replacement asset

This area is only accessible if the moved asset already had a parent in the structure of the new location.

Asset: The indicated asset will be positioned in the former location of the moved asset.
