Lifecycle of an asset

1 - Creation of an asset

An Asset is installed within an organization. It has been created in CARL Source, is in preparation, pending validation, or already validated.

Once its description is completed, the creator can:

Once the Asset has been validated, it can be used in a work order, a Work order plan, etc.

2 - Work order on equipment

A user validates a work order on the Asset.

Once the work order is closed, if the Asset has been repaired it changes to the "Validated" status.

3 - End of lifecycle

If, at the end of a work order, the Asset cannot be repaired, the user "scraps" it.

This has the effect of:

  1. Closing the links to the immediate parents,
  2. Deactivating the Work order plan linked to this Asset,
  3. Filling the end of validity date (with today's date) in references to this Asset in contract periods.

As long as the scrapped Asset has not changed to the "Canceled" status, it can be rehabilitated and therefore switch to the validated status.
If, however, the Asset has changed to the "Canceled" status, it can never be used again.
