Scheduling of resources
Resources > Scheduling of resources

This function assists you concerning the organization of resources in relation to work orders to be scheduled. This allows:

This screen is a graphical representation of the provisional schedule of each resource displayed through color activities.
Activities do not represent work orders but periods of resource activities related to a work order.
They allow you to graphically view the lines of the table [scheduled resources] of the Work order [Labor] tab and the table [required resources] of the Work order [Resources] tab of a work order with a start date and a scheduled time.

The time display can be configured to meet the needs of English-speaking countries. For this purpose, the following two names have to be customized (see Customization of names).
The timelineHourFormat name should be overwritten with the format "%h %a".
The timelineHourMinuteFormat label should be overwritten with the format "%h:%i %a".

Preparing outstanding work orders: the basket of work orders

The right-hand side of the screen contains a list of work orders. The user can filter and/or sort work orders in order to facilitate the scheduling of work on the resources displayed in the schedule. This list can be handled independently of the content present on the central part of the form.

Various actions are available to quickly display the desired work orders to be handled. See Scheduling of resources (Work order basket).

Viewing the resources to be processed

A list of resources such as technicians and/or material resources is displayed on the left of the screen. The user can filter and sort the technicians and/or material resources required for the scheduling of the work. This list can be handled independently of the contents of the basket of work orders. Each resource represents a time line in the schedule.

Various actions are available in order to quickly display the resources useful for the assignments to be carried out. See Scheduling of resources (Work order basket).

Scheduling a technician's activities

Work orders can be assigned to one or more resources to complete the work. The user can scheduled the work for a particular technician by:

A created activity is also visible on the planned resource lines in the Labor tab of the relevant work order.

Scheduling material resources for work orders

The activities of material resources can be planned for work orders by:

A created activity is also visible on the required resources lines of the Resources.

An activity defined for technicians cannot be moved to a material resource or vice versa.

The scheduling element configuration is kept when the function is closed. When the user subsequently accesses the scheduling of resources, they find the same configuration (filters, sorting) as when they last used it.
Changes to the schedule are saved as they occur. There is no manual saving process.

The consistency between the scheduled resources (technician/material resource) initialized on a work order and the resources (technician/material resource) that are actually assigned to that work order can be checked through the scheduling of resources.

The control level can be configured globally via the module settings as well as individually via the communication settings.
