The type is used to classify various types of equipment: Assets:, structure points and templates.

For example:

• an asset may be of the car or computer equipment type.
• a structure point will be a service, room, or building.

Types appear in the form of a drop-down list on the equipment detail forms.
The types are proposed according to the equipment linked to it.

The type and group of the equipment type are used to restrict access to data according to the user by the equipment category.

Management of the equipment type list

Accessing the type list

1. Place the cursor in the [Equipment] module and select [Equipment types] from the [Configuration] section.
   → The list of equipment types is displayed.
   

Creating a type

1. From the list of types, click on the add icon .
   → A line is added in creation mode.
   
   
2. Fill in the type code and name, any group, and then save .
   → The new type is created and available.
   

Refine the type / useful equipment proposal

1.  From the list of types, select a line by clicking on the name, for example
   → The second list at the bottom of the form is updated, the list header contains the type name.
   
2. From the list, click on the add icon .
   → A line is added in creation mode.
   
3. Select the item of equipment for which the type is to be proposed and then save .
   → The type is now configured to be proposed only on the item of equipment entered and is no longer proposed for all equipment indiscriminately.

Deleting a type

1. From the list of types, select the ones to be deleted and then click on the delete icon .
   → The selected types are deleted, provided there is no equipment of those types.
