When you change an attribute in the dictionary, CARL Source indicates all the locations where it is used and asks you to make the change in those locations, whenever possible.

Elements potentially impacted by a change to an attribute's code

• Data exchanges: Integration object, standard.
• Analysis: Filter indicator.
• Customization: Custom form, individual customization, message template, advanced filter.

 

Modification of the code of one or more attributes

Upon saving the changed object, if one of the changed attributes is used, a window containing two lists is automatically displayed:

• The first contains the renamed attributes in question.
• The second list is a list of the items in which the attribute selected in the first list is referenced.

If the "Assumed reference" box is checked, it means that the application cannot determine with certainty that the attribute is used in this element. In this case, the renaming cannot be done automatically; you must therefore change the reference in question yourself, if necessary.

In other cases, simply leave the "To be renamed" box checked and click on the Confirm button.
→ The attribute will then be renamed in the references that you have selected.

You can also cancel your request and leave the dictionary object without saving the changes .
