Advanced filter

An advanced filter is a set of customized search criteria combined on a dedicated tab.
This is a special Customized filter. It therefore works according to the same principles.

An advanced filter also allows you to add columns to the [Results] tab.

Search criteria organization

A search criterion consists of:

A direct or indirect attribute of the object being searched for: date of the last status change, associated characteristic, etc.
An operator for comparison to the search value: less than, greater than, equal to, etc.

The criteria search can be done:

with at least one valid criterion value: criteria linked by an "or,"
with all the criteria values verified: criteria linked by an "and."

CARL Source offers all the attributes accessible from the entity and you build the condition tree by choosing the ones you wish; see Creating an advanced filter.

Presentation

Upon creation of the filter, an additional tab is created containing the added search criteria.
Its layout can be adapted by switching to the customization mode. If the filter is public, the customization remains specific to the user who performed it.

A new function is available from the system module. It is called [Filters].
Its aim is to allow the CARL Source administrator to globally manage all the filters created in the application.

This function is used to:

disable a filter (make it non-public),
define it "as default,"
delete it,
import/export custom filters.

Access to this function is defined through the System /List of custom filters profile node.
However, the use of a custom filter (create, change, delete) is determined by the node: CARL Source/Custom filters.

Several advanced filters can be create for the same function.
The display will appear on the same tab by selecting the desired filter from the drop-down list.
