The integration object is the description of data to be imported or exported as part of data exchanges between CARL Source and other applications.

An integration object is built in the following way:

• It is based on an entity or main business object referenced in CARL Source and to be selected from among the objects in the dictionary.
• The attributes of the object to be included in the exchange are selected,
• If attributes of the components are necessary, the sub-objects are added to the integration object with their attributes.

 

Example:

Exporting time worked by technicians with the names of the technicians, work order name, and name of the operation.

• The main object is OCCUPATION with the attributes:
  • Date,
  • Duration,
  • Time type,
  • Technician,
  • Work order,
  • Operation,
  • Occupation type.
    
• The sub-objects to be included are:
  • The technician with his/her name,
  • The work order with its name,
  • The operation with its name.

 

Accessing the list of integration objects

1. Place the cursor in the [System] module and select [Integration objects] from the [Exchange] section.
   → The list of integration objects is displayed.

 

Creating by copying

1. From the list or details of an integration object, on the creation menu , select "Duplicate."
   → The detail form of the new integration object is initialized with the data from the source object.
