A work order template is a work order template. A work order template allows you to quickly create a work order when it corresponds to a predefined standard.
The aim is to provide a set of standard work order sheets for work orders of the same type that tend to reoccur.
Work order templates are also necessary if you define Work order plan. They are used for automatic work order creation.

 

A work order template is made like a work order, with a few differences:

• The start and end dates are replaced with the end day, which will make it possible to calculate the end date according to the start date.
• The source information is not defined in the work order template because it is specific to each work order.
• Only the estimate is filled in; the completed part will be updated in the work order.

 

A work order is created from a work order template:

• by creating the work order by copying; see Creating a work order and Work order: Duplicate,
• as part of the creation of a hierarchy of work orders from a Project template,
• as part of the triggering of a work order plan.

A work order created by copying from the work order template will inherit all the characteristics of the work order template.
These characteristics, however, can be modified in the work order.
