CARL Source enables two-way interoperability with a geographic data management system:
- Calling a GIS from CARL Source
- Calling a CARL Source page from a GIS
1. Calling a GIS from CARL Source
In this form you describe the external GIS Mapping of an equipment item:
- External mapping (required): Identifier of the external mapping, unique in the application.
- Name: Name of the external mapping.
- Tree structure: Branch of the tree structure in which this external mapping will be valid.
- Base URL (required): Address of the external GIS, to which the settings and their values will be appended. If you want, you can specify a dynamic expression in the base URL (for example: "http://monsite.{xtraTxt02}.map.com/" where xtraTxt02 is an inferred dynamic element).
- Equipment class (required): Equipment structure to which the external mapping applies.
- Default URL: URL displayed on the root of the tree structure, or if the settings are incorrectly evaluated. As for the base URL, a dynamic expression can be entered in the default URL if necessary.
- GIS type (required): Generation of the URL depending on the selected GIS type.
- Status: Status of the external mapping, see Changing the status of an element.
- Organization: Organization to which the mapping is linked.
Settings
The list of URL settings can be managed.
- Setting: Setting name in URL.
- Name: Name of the setting.
- value: Dynamic expression used to determine the value.
- Required expression: Check this if the expression is required.
- Test class: Class of equipment selected for the test.
- Test equipment: Equipment selected for the test.
- Test URL: URL corresponding to the test equipment, calculated automatically based on the setting values.
2. Calling a CARL Source page from a GIS
This reverse call method may need development work to be carried out for Integration. Contact CARL Berger-Levrault teams for details.
It makes use of a "library" (which exposes an API) via which a web application integrated as an external mapping system communicates with CARL Source.
This API can be used to search, consult and create equipment, and create work orders or work requests. These actions are executed with the rights of the connected user in CARL Source and are integrated in the user’s navigation.
