Configuration of equipment types
Equipment > Configuration of equipment types

This function is used to configure the automatic generation of data (characteristics and the name of the tab with the characteristics for an item of equipment) when an equipment type is entered in the equipment detail sheet.

For example:

The types available for each item of equipment depend on any links between the equipment type and the equipment.

Configurations are used to determine the elements that qualify the equipment as default depending on the equipment type entered by the user on a given item of equipment, transparently in use.

The configuration is specified through 3 fields in the form:

  1. Equipment (on the left): Is used to select configurations for a given item of equipment.
  2. Specific configuration according to the equipment type (at the top): Containing the equipment types that have configurations, for a selected item of equipment.
  3. Initialized characteristics (at the bottom): List of characteristics and their default values to be generated on the equipment when entering the equipment type (the one selected on the Top list). Potentially inherited from characteristics sheets (from the secondary tab of this area)
A line of the "No type" type (N/A) is available in the add actions of the type list.
This allows you to define a characteristics initialization and the name of the characteristics tab at the time an item of equipment is saved, when the type is not entered.

Configuration management

Creating a configuration

  1. From the equipment type configuration list, select an item of equipment in the tree structure on the left.
→ The two lists on the right are updated.

  2. In the first list (equipment type specific configuration), add a type (Multi add, Type initialization, adding of "No type" line).
→ One line (at least) for the type is entered.

  3. On the type line, change the tab name.
→ When the type is added to the equipment, the name of the characteristics tab will be replaced by the name shown on the configuration line.

  4. In the list of initialized characteristics, enter the characteristics, default values and 'Important' properties you want to generate for the type and equipment previously designated, and then save .
→ The new configuration is created and is available.
→ When Type is added to the configured equipment details, the specified characteristics will be initialized as expected, and the name of the tab having the list of characteristics will be adjusted as defined by the user.

Changing a configuration

  1. From the equipment type configuration list, select an item of equipment from the tree on the left.
→ The two lists on the right are updated.

  2. From the first list (equipment type specific configuration), select an existing type line. The tab name can be adjusted.
→ The list of characteristics is updated.

  3. In the list of characteristics, the data can be changed and then saved .
→ Future generations of characteristic will be processed with the saved data.
→ The names of the equipment type tabs for the selected equipment are changed instantaneously.

Initialize the characteristics through the characteristics sheets

The advantage of referencing characteristic sheets to form the characteristics with initialized default values for an equipment type is that the updating and updating of these sheets will be considered transparently. With each new initialization, taking advantage of the equipment type configuration, the system will take the elements of the characteristics sheet without having to update the initialized characteristics or the ones that have been filled in on the configuration.
However, the default values of the sheets can be overwritten in the configuration if necessary.

  1. On the Characteristic sheet sub-tab, select one or more existing sheets to quickly populate a collection of predefined characteristics to initialize characteristics on this configuration.
→ The list contains the sheet(s) initializing the initialized characteristics.

  2. Change the priority of the knowledge base if necessary. This allows, in the event of duplication of characteristics, to prioritize which Sheet has priority over the default values of this characteristic
→ The Sheets are sorted by the desired priority.

  3. Switch to the Initialized characteristics tab.
→ Characteristics from Characteristic sheets are added and prioritized. They are read-only and cannot be deleted.

  4. If necessary, overwrite a characteristic by simply selecting a similar characteristic template with the button.
→ The relevant characteristic line no longer has the reference to the knowledge base and can be edited. The values of this characteristic are overwritten with respect to the characteristic..

  5. This data may be recorded .
→ Future generations of characteristic will be processed with the data from saved Characteristics sheets.
→ Data from characteristic sheets will be supported with the latest updated version of the Characteristic sheet. The user does not need to update the equipment type configuration to have the up to date version of these characteristics inherited from the sheets.
If a characteristic that overwrites a characteristic from a sheet is deleted, the characteristic initialized by the sheet then reappears with the code of the sheet from which it originated and is therefore read-only.
An action can also be used to create initialized characteristics from the default characteristics of a sheet. In this case, the characteristics are duplicated and do not refer to the characteristic sheet.

Deleting a configuration

  1. From the equipment type configuration list, select an item of equipment from the tree on the left.
→ The two lists on the right are updated.

  2. From the first list (equipment type specific configuration), select the type lines to be deleted and then click on the delete icon .
→ The configurations of the selected types on the selected equipment are deleted.
