Planning [Technician assignment]

The purpose of this form is to facilitate the assignment of technicians to work orders.
The teams may already be assigned, but this is not a requirement. See Work order [Completed] [Labour].

To ensure the consistency of the displayed data, changes are saved with each change of a tab or form.

Anticipated resources

Depending on the update that you have triggered, this list contains:

The line is highlighted in yellow if it is for a resource without an assigned technician.
This means that at least one resource line is saved for the work order.

Same information and use as in Planning [Team assignment].

 

Relationship between lists

To know which technician has been assigned or the technicians that can be assigned to a resource:

  1. Select them by checking one or more resource lines.
  2. Click on See possible Technicians.

 

To know which resource lines, and therefore which work orders, are assigned to a technician:

  1. Select by checking the technician.
  2. Click on See work orders assigned.

 

To know which resource lines can be assigned to a technician:

  1. Check the technician.
  2. Click on See work orders to be assigned.

 

Availability of technicians

This list contains the technicians that can be assigned to all the selected resource lines.
In the event of discrepancies between the two lists (resources/availability), the software attempts to perform a reconciliation, based on the following data:

The technician is checked if they is assigned to the selected resource.

To assign a technician to an anticipated resource, check the technician and click on "Assign/Deassign technician.

Conversely, after having clicked on "See work orders to be assigned," to assign the technician to a resource, check the resource and click on "Assign/Deassign technician."

 

 

Technician availability actions

Pressing the "Refresh" button relating to the list or displaying another tab resets the content of the availabilities list.

 

Smoothing of workloads/availability

This planning function is used to adjust the duration of each cell, so as to adjust the period of time displayed on the screen (using the two buttons to adjust the zoom).

As default, the screens are presented with a resolution of: one day per column.


If the display is adjusted to a resolution of one day or more (e.g. a week or month per column), the software will display the workloads and availability of technicians by consolidating the anticipated times.

 

Conversely, if the display is adjusted to a resolution of less than one day (6, 2, 1 or ½ hours), the software will spread the times out over each list:
