This form is used to enter measurement readings for all reading points corresponding to the search criteria entered.

Date: Date that will be recorded as the reading date. Initialized with the current date; you can change it.
As default, the date of a new reading must be later than the most recent reading (and always earlier than the system date).
A user profile setting can be used to make this check more flexible, by allowing a "
Non-chronological" reading (for which the date is earlier than the latest reading).
- Reading point: The one to which the reading refers.
- Reading point name: Name of the reading point
- value: Value of the reading that you need to enter. Must be between the minimum value and maximum value of the reading point.

Variation: Difference between the value of the reading and that of the previous reading. It is filled in by the application.
In the case of a meter, you can enter the variation and the system will calculate the value, with the variation always being positive in the case of a meter.
In the case of a correction, the variation is calculated with respect to the last correct value, that is, the last reading not followed by a correction.
- Last value. : Last reading value (most recent in chronological order), non-modifiable.
- Comment: Information about the reading entry, which can be viewed in the reading history.

Correction: Check this box if you are not going to take another reading, but you wish to:
- Either correct the last entered value, which was incorrect.
- Or assign another value because the meter was replaced. In this case, it is advisable to distinguish between a physical meter (the interchangeable element providing the reading) and a linked virtual meter (for the target equipment, totaling the ageing).

Repercussion: If you enter a correction value, specify whether the correction is to be applied to the target reading points by checking this box.
If non-chronological readings are allowed, this box can never be accessed: repercussion is not possible.
The data in the Value, Variation and Last value fields are expressed in the unit defined for each reading point.
Correction entry examples
The (actual) parts meter has a maximum value of 1000. It feeds a (fictitious) time meter for operation of the machine.
Example 1:
The meter is no longer working. You replace it with another initialized to 0.
The new correction reading is "0." The value of the time meter must not be modified.
→ You select "No" repercussion.
Example 2:
The last reading of the parts meter has a value of 800.
This value was incorrect. In reality, it needed to read 200.
→ You therefore enter a new reading of 200 and check the "Correction" box.
This correction is to be impacted:
- "Downward" if the variation is -600 compared to the incorrect value,
- "Upward" if the variation is +400 compared to the incorrect value (because the meter has completed a cycle).
Non-chronological readings
In this case, specific checks are applied to the value recorded, to ensure that a backdated entry does not introduce inconsistencies between trends from previous measurements and possible triggering of preventive work.
Entry of a non-chronological value is permitted according to rules which apply to all types of measurement point (simple and meter):
- The reading is taken into account as a new Value (the variation is calculated during processing): this value is always shown on the data entry screen.
- A reading cannot be recorded for a date that is prior to a Correction reading, as this would implicitly cancel the new reading: otherwise, it would implicitly neutralise this new reading in progress.
- Readings are sorted by date. A non-chronological reading cannot be entered at an identical date to an existing reading (minimum difference 1 second).
- A non-chronological reading implies a variation calculation relative to the previous valid value. It also results in a modification of the variation for the next valid reading, whose value remains fixed.
Additional checks are applied for a reading on a Meter, in order to follow ageing-related rules, and retaining the historical variation cycle for the meter: either for a phase where the value increases, or if the meter’s display threshold is exceeded.
The resulting conditions and processing depend on the following aspects:
- The historical period deduced from the reading date, distinguishing between a rising variation phase (ageing) and a counter threshold overrun phase resulting in a return to zero.
- Whether regression is authorized or not for the measurement point (for corrections).
- The processing differs depending on whether the non-chronological reading is a Correction or not.
For a non-chronological reading, whether or not it is a Correction, it will not be reflected.
Any linked measurement points will not be updated automatically; non-chronological readings must be entered separately for them.
