In this form, you indicate the controls and conversions to apply:
- When importing: to the data of the incoming file before the data is imported into CARL Source,
- When exporting: to CARL Source data before it is written to the file.
Header
- Standard version and Record: Standard version and record for which the controls and conversions are defined.
Export
This tab contains the conversions and controls applied upon export.
- Attribute and name aliases: Identifier and name of the attribute.
- Required: Check if the field must be filled in in CARL Source in order for the record to be exported.
- Format: Desired format of the date or number in the resulting file; see Exchange formats.
- Maximum number of characters: If the field exceeds this size in CARL Source, the record will not be exported.
- Conversion: Processing to be applied to the CARL Source data before it is entered into the output file; see Conversions.
Import
This tab contains the conversions and controls applied upon import.
- Attribute and name aliases: Identifier and name of the attribute.
- Required: Check if the field must be filled in in the file in order for the record to be imported.
- Maximum number of characters: If the field exceeds this size in the file, the record will not be imported.
- Format: The date or number in the file must comply with this format in order for the record to be imported; see Exchange formats.
- Conversion: Processing to be applied to the file data before it is integrated into CARL Source; see Conversions.
Conversion test
The principle is the same for both import and export.
- Test data: Data to be entered in order to view the effect of the conversion in the "Results" column.
- Results: Application of the conversion to the test data, as it will be exported or imported. In the case of exporting, the desired format is applied.
