Mass operations on equipment characteristics
This screen displays the elements coming from the calling function and distributes them into 2 tables in order to manage, in bulk, actions to add/update/delete characteristics on equipment.
It can be accessed from an equipment list/detail, the model detail, or from Equipment characteristics.
From an equipment list, or from the lists within this form, it is possible to select items in order to process only the selected elements and not the entire list.
Screen content
It consists of:
- A "Characteristic" list on the left showing rows of characteristics with the value to be used as the basis for the intended changes.
Various searches may be used through the list actions to add characteristic rows originating from application elements:
- From characteristics (System module),
- From the different equipment lists: to automatically retrieve the characteristics carried by the selected equipment,
- From a model: to automatically retrieve the characteristics defined on the selected model.
- An "Equipment" list on the right allowing you to specify the equipment to be impacted by the characteristics.
Various searches may be used through the list actions to select the equipment to be impacted:
- From equipment lists,
- From the hierarchy,
- From the mapping.
- In the header: a choice of action to apply, along with the execution of the process.
By clicking the Apply button, the action is applied to each characteristic row of the affected equipment.
If no row is selected, the entire lists will be taken into account for the process.
The process is executed asynchronously.
A memo summarizing the completed processing is sent to the user at the end of execution.
Apply the mass process
- Add / Update characteristic rows and their desired values as needed.
→ At least one characteristic row exists in the list, or at least one row is selected (to be included in the process).
- Add / Update the equipment to be impacted as needed.
→ At least one equipment item exists in the list, or at least one row is selected (to be included in the process).
- Select a mass action to execute.
→ One of the actions is selected.
- Trigger the action using the “Apply” button.
→ Upon execution, a summary of the requested processing is displayed for confirmation.
- Process validation.
→ When triggered, a message indicates that the process has started and that a memo will be made available at the end summarizing the performed actions.
This memo includes a link listing the modified characteristics (except in case of characteristic deletion).
Available mass actions:
Add a characteristic to equipment that does not already have this characteristic
In this case, equipment already possessing this characteristic code is excluded from the process (no value update will be performed).
This action makes it possible to add missing characteristics to equipment.
Add and update values
In this case, characteristics are added if absent (as in the action above) but for equipment already having these characteristics, their values will be updated.
Update
In this case, only equipment that already has the characteristic is impacted; the value and the "important" flag are updated.
Equipment without the characteristic is not impacted: the characteristic is not added.
Deletion
In this case, equipment possessing the characteristic (whatever its value) is impacted and the characteristic is deleted for those items.
