Purchasing > Currencies

The form allows you to declare all the currencies needed to manage the context of international suppliers and also to manage the multi-currency context of CARL Source users.

In the context of international suppliers, these currencies allow purchase request and purchase order amounts to be converted into the context currency and also allow item prices and purchase request and purchase order amounts to be expressed in the supplier's currency.

A supplier is associated with a single currency.

Purchase request and purchase order amounts are also converted into the context currency, using the exchange rates, see Exchange rates.

The context currency is the reference currency specified in System configuration when CARL Source is used in a single-currency environment.

Accessing the list of currencies

  1. Place the cursor in the [Purchasing] module and select [Currencies] from the [Configuration] section.
→ The list of currencies is displayed.

  2. You can then add currencies, modify existing currencies, or delete currencies not being used.

Description of the fields

Selecting the Multi-currency checkbox is subject to the CARL Source/Global/Manage multi-currency environment profile right.

Once a new currency (standard or multi-currency) is saved, a popup containing the message "Exchange rates are, as default, initialized to 1. Do you want to change these rates? is displayed. This popup allows you to declare exchange rate values.

2 options are possible:

At any time, it is also possible to update the exchange rates, by selecting the [Exchange rates] feature in the "Configuration" block.

The reference currency is checked as default as multi-currency. It cannot be unchecked.

A saved currency cannot be deleted. However, if it is no longer used, it can be disabled so that it is no longer visible in the drop-down lists offering a choice of currencies.
