Purchasing > Currencies > Exchange rate

The purpose of this function is to set the conversion values between currencies in the application and to keep a history.

Exchange rates are used when the supplier's currency is different from the context currency:

In this case, the exchange rate is initialized when the PR or purchase order is created and kept until the PR or purchase order is closed.

During the purchasing process, the software detects any change in the exchange rate for the supplier’s currency: when a PR or a PO is set to the "Approved" state, a message asks whether the amount in the reference currency should be modified to take into account of the last known exchange rate.

likewise, when a PR is converted to an order and the PO is confirmed, the program updates the amount on the original PR to be consistent with the associated PO.

Exchange rate variations are stored, keeping a record of past values for each currency relative to the reference currency:.
