This page contains information on the installation and licensing of CARL Source. This information may be useful for application maintenance.

To open the page, choose "About CARL Source" on the CARL Source help menu .

The information is spread over four tabs:

• Versions: all CARL Source distributions installed in your environment, see the About CARL Source [Versions] tab
• Database: information regarding the database, see the About CARL Source [Database] tab
• Server: list of server settings, see the About CARL Source [Server] tab
• License: view and update license information, see the About CARL Source [License] tab

 

General information

• License number: License number used.
• Licensee: Legal entity or person owning the license.
• Advanced mode? : Box checked, the user then has access to all customization possibilities available in CARL Source (with no restrictions).
  Conversely, if the box is unchecked, the user has access to a restricted mode for customization possibilities.

Exporting the technical configuration

This export contains the technical configuration information available in this "About" screen:

• License number and licensee
• Tab Information About CARL Source [License]
• Tab Information About CARL Source [Database]
• Tab Information About CARL Source [Server]
• Information about the JVM (execution options, BootClasspath, Classpath, System properties, JVM start-up)
• Detailed information on all distributions installed (detailed version of the items in the About CARL Source [Versions])
• Details of the system configuration
• Currency information (reference currency, usable context currencies)
• Enabled translatable object attributes.

 

Procedure for exporting the technical configuration

1. On the actions menu , select "Export technical configuration."
   → The application asks if you want to save or open the file containing the configuration data.

 

Exporting a performance report

This export generates a compressed file (.zip format) containing a set of files aimed at "Performance analysis."

These files contain:

• data from the application server from which the report request is run,
• data for the entire cluster (data stored in the database at regular intervals by each server in the cluster).

 

These files contain various categories of indicator:

• Indicators specific to the screens.
• Indicators relating to database access.
• Indicators relating to back-end job execution.
• Indicators relating to report execution.
• General indicators.

All this information enables CARL Berger-Levrault technical support to analyze the "overall" performance of a CARL Source cluster.

 

Procedure for exporting a performance report

1. On the settings menu , select "Export a performance report."
   → The application asks if you want to save or open the files containing the performance data.
