Warehouse [Locations]

This tab contains the encoded locations of your warehouse.
They are used to precisely locate batches of items upon entry in the warehouse, and then, when searching for them, for taking inventory or a withdrawal.

Filter criterion

The following filter criterion may be applied to this list:

Active locations: three-state check box to filter the locations displayed.
- Checked: display locations for which the Status field is "Enabled."
- Unchecked: display locations for which the Status field is "Disabled."
- Intermediate (as default): display all locations.

Changing the status of this check box automatically updates the list.

List of locations

This list has the following columns:

Location (required): Identifier of the location, unique for the warehouse. Choose a term making it easy to identify the location.
Name: Name of the location, for better situating it.
Width, Height, Depth: Dimensions of the location (in metres). Indicate the approximate volume of the items that can be stored there.
Weight: Indicates the maximum weight of the items that can be stored there.
Status: Location status ("Enabled" or "Disabled"). By default, the status of a location is set to "Enabled."

A "Disabled" location can no longer be used for ordinary stock operations: entries, withdrawals, consumption, inventories, changes of location.

A location may be changed from "Disabled" to "Enabled" at any time, with no restrictions.

A location may be changed from "Enabled" to "Disabled" only:

→ if there are no quantities in stock greater than '0' stored in the location (for all items present in the database),

→ and there are no prepared inventory lines (with status other than "Cancelled" or "Closed") referring to the location.
